How BillingPlatform Determines Price

BillingPlatform offers a highly customizable platform upon which to determine how you charge for your products. Pricing can be determined at the product, contract, account package product, or account product level depending on which ones are existing and in-effect (within the effective dates where applicable). Also, the nested hierarchy of accounts will also come into play, say, if no pricing is defined in the provisioned account, package, and contracts for the current account, it will go through the pricing check flow/rules of the account's parent, and so forth.

Default Prices - Last line of rates used by the system if no pricing plans or rate classes are in effect.

Rate Classes - A collection of revised rates of products that can be used to later create pricing plans for customers. All pricing plans can be based upon rate classes. This can save a lot of time if a lot of customers use similar pricing, and only a few need variations. Please follow the link for more information.

Pricing Plans -Pricing plans allow you to set more granular levels of pricing specifications for customers. These are based off rate classes or completely custom. Please follow the link for more information.

Contract Rates - Contracts allow you to refine the pricing of existing products in the system relative to what you want to take effect to the customer.
